The One With No Good-Byes [Video]
[The boys are standing in front of a Barge-normal door. You know what that means kids...]
Our warden flew the coop.
[Scrad announces flatly. Charlie sarcastically adds:]
Big surprise.
[Actually, it is. They liked Drake; thought he was an okay guy. Trusted him, kinda. Almost. This hurts.
Don't expect them to admit that, though.]

[Says Scrad.]
Shoes?
[Charlie guesses. They never actually discussed shoes, but without someone to tell them what they talked about, they can't remember.]
no subject
[Very nice shoes.]
But, didn't he talk to you ever, about why you decided to be an interplanetary terrorist? Or a kidnapper? Or an informant? Or any of the other things you decided to be?
no subject
[Scrad allows.]
I think he asked him about the bomb thing once, but I wasn't really listening.
[Charlie admits.]
no subject
[Prefect suggests]
What was the bomb thing?
no subject
[Charlie says. Scrad explains:]
Boss Lady gave us bomb, told us to blow some place up. He didn't want to. I didn't either, but I was gonna do it anyway.
no subject
And why were you going to do it anyway, if neither of you wanted too?
no subject
[Charlie explains. Scrad also explains:]
'Cause she told us to.
no subject
[But man, doing as you're told. That is a heady lure and he knows it.]
Do you think there is any situation, in which you would not have done as you were told?
no subject
[Charlie admits.]
And we wouldn't want Lisa Kudrow to die. Or get enslaved.
[Scrad admits. He hadn't thought of that before. Oh, Lisa. He never would have hurt you intentionally.]
We probably wouldn't off ourself.
[Charlie tells him.]
no subject
no subject
N-no.
[Charlie lies.]
no subject
[Lisa Kudrow is probably a nice girl that they knew. Probably.]
no subject
If you say so. We wouldn't know.
[Scrad says.]
no subject
[He's less wheedling now, more just... kind of trying to figure out where Scrad and Charlie stand with their feelings.
So he can SLYLY WARDEN THEM.]
no subject
I dunno. No. Sometimes.
[Charlie adds:]
We don't think about stuff like that. What's the point?
Private
Well, if you think about what makes you happy, then you can use that knowledge to figure out what kind of life you want to lead.
[Prefect explains]
Like, if hypothetically, you were happy on earth, then it makes sense that you wouldn't want it to be blown up, then you could use that knowledge to decide whether or not you should do as you were told.
Private
[Scrad answers, immediately.]
We didn't. And look where we ended up.
[Charlie brats.]
Private
[And oh hey wait what was that other bit?]
You didn't do as you were told? You mean, you didn't plant the bomb even though she told you too?
Private
[Charlie cuts Scrad off:]
Nope. I punched him in the face.
[Scrad glares.]
I punched you in the face.
[Charlie nods.]
We both punched us in the face.
Private
And, I think that's pretty courageous, Comrades. Even if it did end up bringing you here.
Private
[Scrad asks, suspiciously.]
Private
Private
[Charlie says.]
