The One Where The Movie Was Better [video]

[The hallway passes lazily behind them. They're doing a walk-and-talk again, but there's no urgency behind this one. Sorkin would be so disappointed, but the fact that they aren't in their mess of a room staring at any number of TV screens might be a little significant.]

Horror's not really our genre.

[Scrad says.]

Great party, though, wasn't it?

[Charlie adds. Scrad looks as close to thoughtful as he is capable of looking.]

[Spam for Kay and also open.]

[They've finished their broadcast, and the comm is tucked back away in one of the many pockets on their vest, but it still can't be said that they're looking where they're going. Scrad is looking at their feet. Charlie is watching the ceiling pass by. Some things will never change.]

Good, good, that was the best thing you could have done. Bad influence, ghosts. They always want people to join their parties for good.

[She is restraining herself from glomping, but not very well. She sort of wiggles in place, clasping and unclasping her hands.]

I was worried but I was useless. Again.

I'm so glad. They don't really understand what they're asking. They've got used to it, you see.

[She pats their arm, it's all she'll allow herself, but...eep.]

You looked out for yourselves. I'm proud....

[And then her face falls.]

All the little children from Drowned London came to visit me.

[Her lips tremble and she looks down.] I'll never live down what happened to them.

[It takes her a few moments to pull herself together, and then she smiles gamely.] Well. I'll sort it out. What is going on with you?

...

[Blink. Blink.]

...boys?

[Well that makes her feel a bit better, certainly!]

That's your graduation loo!

Um, yes. It's pretty typical of him. You spend your entire time here wishing for a private bath, and then he gives you one as soon as you're free to go.

[She is all the mixed feelings right now but she manages a smile.]

Congratulations!

Well, now we get a list of luggage requests together, and I give you some seed money, and you sort out where you'd like to go and when. And of course a party if you want one.

Very well then! Why don't you pick out your early Christmas list, then, and I'll help you pack.

[She closes her eyes and tries to focus, a faint purple glow rising up around her.]

When you go, turn over the bomb and anything else they might see as evidence against her, and let them know that you are willing to act as a witness against your scary former boss in return for protection. Emphasize the scary part. There will be whatever the MIB do instead of a trial, but turning evidence against the actual Big Bad is how guys in your position avoid things like being locked up forever, or losing your home.
